Bobst Library is providing one-on-one research assistance for NYU students who want help locating library materials relevant to their topic. Students are invited to make an appointment with a librarian who will assist you in developing an individualized research strategy for your topic.

HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT:
Complete the online registration form at http://library.nyu.edu/research/termpaper.html
There is no telephone or in-person registration.

WHEN ARE THE CLINICS BEING HELD?
Monday through Thursday, March 29 – April 8. The specific times are indicated on the registration form. Appointments last about 25 minutes.

WHO ARE THE RESEARCH CLINICS FOR?
This service is designed for undergraduates but any NYU student (except Law, Medical, Dental and Poly School students) is welcome to sign up.

Please note that this service does not include writing assistance.

Bobst Library Spring Break Hours

From March 13-20, Bobst Library will be open reduced hours for Spring Break.

Open stacks and lower levels will be open from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. and service points will open at 10:00 a.m. or later. Full hours are detailed at http://library.nyu.edu/about/hours/spring.html . We encourage you to check library hours as you make research and study plans and apologize for any inconvenience.

Bobst Library open for study Friday Feb. 26

NYU classes are canceled and the University is closed today, Friday, February 26, due to weather.

Bobst Library will be open today for study only. Self-check will be available for those wishing to check out items.

Floors 1-10 will close at midnight. LL1 & 2 will remain open as usual for study.

We plan to reopen tomorrow with full service.

The Violet Ball will be held in Bobst Library this Saturday, February 27. The Violet Ball is sponsored by the NYU SSC (Student Senators Council) University Committee on Student Life.

As a result the Avery Fisher Center, Circulation and floors 1-10 in Bobst Library will close early as follows:

  • Circulation and the Avery Fisher Center close at 6:45
  • Floors 1-10 close at 7:00

The Lower Levels and services remain open regular hours

  • Tamiment – closes early at 1pm
  • Stacks, floors 1 – 10 – Close early at midnight

Data Service Studio Spring Tutorials, Classes, Reservations

The Data Service Studio on the sixth floor of Bobst Library provides expert staff and access to software, statistical computing, geographical information systems analysis, data collection resources, and data management services all in support quantitative research at NYU. The ITS/Libraries facility features a 9-seat work and instruction space where students and faculty can receive consultation and resources in statistical analysis and geographic information systems (GIS), and gain access to a variety of software for statistical, qualitative, and GIS analysis (SPSS, SAS, STATA, R, ESRI GIS products, Matlab, and others).

Consultation is available from 12-6 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays and 12-8 on Wednesdays and Thursdays by appointment through the online request form, via email (data.service@nyu.edu), telephone (212-998-3434), or on a walk-in basis; additionally, the studio’s workstations are available for walk-in use whenever the library stacks are open.
